I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Finneran — if the Minister will respond positively to a request by Muintir na Tíre for a subvention towards the cost of installing socially monitored alarms for the elderly; (2) Deputy Healy — the need for the location of an emergency ambulance service in the town of Carrick-on-Suir; (3) Deputy Catherine Murphy — the need for a study of Irish attitudes to rape victims to be carried out; (4) Deputy Keaveney — to ask the Minister the supports that have and can be given, including information technology supports, to assist the company Forward Emphasis in County Donegal; (5) Deputy Connolly — to discuss the serious reduction in the projected level of funding under the equal opportunities child care programme for the Cootehill community resource house, County Cavan; (6) Deputy Cowley — to ask the Minister the reason the Government has not acted on the main recommendation of the report, A Review of Public Safety in Ireland; (7) Deputy Costello — the need for the Minister to clarify his policy on convicted paedophiles while serving prison sentences and after release in the community; and (8) Deputy Broughan — the measures being undertaken by the Government to bring about a resolution of the Irish Ferries situation.

The matters raised by Deputies Healy, Keaveney, Connolly and Costello have been selected for discussion.
