I am open to looking at any initiative that could be piloted. When one is talking about introducing it on a broad basis, one is talking not only about a pilot but introducing the teaching support and designing the curriculum so an element of time is essential to make sure it works in a proper way. The notion of piloting something in the short run would certainly be of interest and I would be happy to talk to the Deputy.

Dear Minister,
In the light of your reply to Deputy Shane Cassells TD I should be much obliged to follow up on your answer to his question.
The Director of Navan Education Centre (NEC) and myself, are keen meet you (or a representative) to supply more information about the work mentioned by Deputy Cassells, in the area of piloting coding in primary school with the Resources Development Unit at NEC. We have the backing of almost all the other education centres in the network, we have begun training tutors and a pilot project is possible for September. I look forward to hearing from you as early as possible.

Kind regards
Seamus O'Neill
