Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31
10:30 am
Paddy McHugh (Galway East, Independent)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following matter of urgent local and national interest, namely, the pollution of Lough Corrib, which is the source of water for a large section of Galway and part of Mayo; the need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to address the House on the issue and to outline his proposals to make the lake pollution free; the Minister's proposals to identify the sources of pollution of the lake and his plans to prevent a recurrence of the pollution; and to provide an opportunity to the Government to outline the resources it will make available to the local authority to carry out the necessary works.
