Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31
10:30 am
Tom Hayes (Tipperary South, Fine Gael)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of national importance, namely, the emergence of a gangland culture in Clonmel, County Tipperary, fuelled by drugs and violence. A local newspaper in south Tipperary recently documented the fact that Clonmel gangs are now using the Internet as a forum to taunt and threaten rivals and to promote a culture of drugs, gangs and violence. I am sure that Clonmel is no different from any other large town in Ireland. Accordingly, the House urgently needs to debate this matter.
