I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following specific and important matter of public interest requiring urgent consideration, namely, the necessity for an additional €4.8 million to be provided in the budget for the emerging needs fund if the demands for 2006 as identified by the local drugs task forces are to be met. The increasingly crucial purpose of the fund is to address identified emerging needs on the target basis by facilitating local drugs task forces in recommending responses that build on existing projects.
