I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following specific and important matter of public interest requiring urgent consideration, namely, the fact that the Government has failed to commit the resources necessary to implement the national drugs strategy and to realise the full potential of the local drugs task forces and regional drugs task forces, a failure that is evidenced by the Estimates which involve a shortfall of €15 million and which must be rectified by additional funding, through the budget, if adequate support is to be provided to meet the likely needs in 2006.
