I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following specific and important matter of public interest requiring urgent consideration, namely, the fact that the Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Deputy Noel Ahern, has failed the working partnership with the local drugs task forces and the national drugs strategy team and this, coupled with the measly funding provided for in the Estimates, which is totally inadequate to meet the needs identified in local communities, has forced the resignation of the experienced and dedicated Fergus McCabe from his position as community sector representative on the national drugs strategy team.
