Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
11:00 am
John Gormley (Dublin South East, Green Party)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of urgent public importance, namely, the report by Barnardos which shows that one in seven Irish children is living in poverty, and the need for the Government to back the Barnardos proposals, which include increasing child benefits, providing medical cards to families who pay 20% tax and putting the National Children's Office on a statutory footing.
