Would it not be a better system to encourage different things such as if on every bit of plastic that came in, the levy was paid like it is on other things? We pay carbon tax to the Government. The levy could be paid and whatever IFFPG does, it is paid; whatever Johnny down the road does with his recycling, as long as he has the numbers on every roll, he is paid. Why is there no thinking outside the box? This shop is closed to anyone who wants to set up a recycling business in Ireland because they will get €120 as against €286. The maths do not stack up. A place in the Netherlands is gone. If that goes outside the EU, under the green deal we cannot go there, so we need to look outside the box to try to encourage more people to find more ways to recycle. I cannot understand the Department's closed door on all this.
