I thank the witnesses for their presentations, which I very much agree with. On the Erin chatbot, Dr. Shrishak said that he learned through FOI requests that the Department did not run a tender process, performed no risk assessment, no bias tests and no environmental impact assessment for any of these. That is obviously very concerning. It would seem very unusual that there was no tender process. Is it illegal? Are there not EU competition law requirements to run a tendering process for things like these? Is Dr. Shrishak aware of any part of the public sector doing an environmental impact assessment on AI before its use? It was certainly not mentioned to us last week when officials from the Department of public expenditure and reform were here. What other concerns does he have on that?
