I would not say that we have an overarching concern on that point. The Bill makes reference to the obtaining of images by the Garda. The sharing of personal data between jurisdictions for law enforcement purposes is already subject to substantial oversight and governance mechanisms, and we would expect that any information derived from this source would fall under the same governance and oversight rule set.

In our submission, we make reference to the code of practice that will need to be developed to provide substantial detail on how the system will work. We expect the code of practice will speak to that and the safeguards that may be in place.
