Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community
Múnlú ár dTodhchaí Dátheangaigh agus Seirbhísí Poiblí Dátheangacha: Fondúireacht Eolaíochta Éireann
Dr. Ciar?n Seoighe:
Tiocfaidh sé. Rinneamar suirbhé san fhondúireacht agus d’iarramar ar an bhfoireann cén tsuim a bhí acu sa Ghaeilge agus conas a raibh siad ag iarraidh dul i bhfeidhm leis an nGaeilge as seo amach. Across the entire team, which includes people from Ireland and abroad, there was a high degree of interest in Irish. It was interesting to see. Some people who are not from Ireland and came from abroad want to learn more about the language so they can learn about and understand the culture, which is quite an interesting way to look at it. Some of the inspiration we get is from the strong Irish speakers in the organisation. There are people who are keen to do more but the main thing is they do not want to do it internally as formal classes. The interest is in settings where people can have conversations. Táimid ag obair ar rudaí cosúil le caife agus caint nó lón agus labhairt - rudaí atá níos neamhoifigiúla a thugann seans do dhaoine labhairt as Gaeilge agus í a chleachtadh.
