I do not know whether I agree. There is a lot of alarm among the general public. I do not want to repeat myself but I think if there was a very easily accessible route to find out how one was being profiled by what one was Googling, which can be very effective, and how one was being targeted, most people would be happy with that.
These companies have got the height of expertise to do this, and to make it more user friendly. They would not then be pulled into Oireachtas committees. We raised this with the Data Protection Commission last week. We asked whether it has to carry out all these investigations and whether it comes to this in order to get change within the industry. I am coming from the perspective of protecting the user, and at the same time acknowledging the great benefit that the Internet has. We need to be able to balance the rights and ensure that there is confidence in relation to people's safety online.
