GSOC employees are civil servants in the ordinary way and are covered by many of the Civil Service rules and practices. When a complaint is made to GSOC about any member, it is referred to our human resources, HR, department which follows the Civil Service disciplinary procedures. Those matters are dealt with in the way any civil servant would be dealt with when a complaint is made about his or her work. Those procedures apply across the board.

Not surprisingly, we do not accept everything that is reported in the newspapers. Insofar as an investigation was carried out, it has been completed and no misconduct was found in the terms of what The Irish Timesreported. Was it The Irish Timesthe Deputy referred to?
