Apologies have been received from the Chairman - which is why I am in the Chair - and Deputies Seán Crowe, Noel Grealish and Niall Collins. Before proceeding to the business, I remind Members and those in the Public Gallery that mobile phones should be switched off completely for the duration of the meeting as they cause interference even if on silent mode with the recording equipment in the committee rooms.

The purpose of today's meeting is to consider the motion referred to the select committee by Dáil Éireann on approving the terms of the enhanced partnership and co-operation agreement between the European Union and its member states of the one part and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Under the terms of the Dail motion on 25 September 2018, the committee must consider the matter and, having done so, report back to the House not later than today.
