I have engaged with the chief executives and the chairpersons of the banks in the way that the Chairman is aware of. I am confident that at a leadership level, there is a commitment from the banks to make sure that their organisations have a culture that is fit for purpose and that reflects what we should have learned from the past and gives us all the best prospects of a better collective future in the economy. To look at this matter, I have requested the report that I identified in my opening statement because I want to give the committee more than my judgment on the matter. I believe the matter cuts to the heart of both the challenges and opportunities that we have with the banks. I assure the Chairman I will be able to come back and discuss that report with the committee when I receive it.
