Messages to Dáil and Seanad

In accordance with Standing Order 87, the following message will be sent to the Dáil:


The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality has completed its consideration of the following motion:That the proposal that Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:
Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a European Union agency for law enforcement training (CEPOL), repealing and replacing the Council Decision 2005/681/JHA,
a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 8th August, 2014, be referred to the Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality, in accordance with Standing Order 82A(4)(j), which, not later than 20th November, 2014, shall send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 87, and Standing Order 86(2) shall accordingly apply.
In accordance with Standing Order 73 the following message will be sent to the Seanad:
The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality has completed its consideration of the following motion:That the proposal that Seanad Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:
Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a European Union agency for law enforcement training (CEPOL), repealing and replacing the Council Decision 2005/681/JHA,
a copy of which was laid before Seanad Éireann on 8th August, 2014, be referred to the Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality, in accordance with Standing Order 70A(3)(j), which, not later than 20th November, 2014, shall send a message to the Seanad in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 73 and Standing Order 75(2) shall accordingly apply.

Sitting suspended at 11.50 a.m. and resumed in private session at 2.30 p.m. The joint committee adjourned at 4.15 p.m. until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 26 November 2014.
