I am from the south east and represent Wexford and Wicklow. I am from a lovely town called Arklow. Unfortunately, in the last two weeks, and the same situation is replicated throughout Ireland, a factory has closed down. I can see investment coming in and people increasing their workforce but now we are looking for someone to fill that gap. Earlier Mr. Sweetman mentioned infrastructure. Arklow has the biggest waste treatment plant in Europe at the moment. The workforce is a proven workforce so they have ticked all those boxes. With the current geopolitical situation and an uncertain world, can we really say that people are looking to come in here and start now?
