Transatlantic Trade Relations: American Chamber of Commerce Ireland
2:00 am
Mr. Paul Sweetman:
The investment by US companies is quite evenly split between Dublin and the rest of Ireland. Companies look for a number of things when they invest here. The top thing is talent and skills, so they will go to the locations where they feel talent and skills are available. Across Ireland, there is a huge offering all the way through the regions for talent and skills capability. US investors look at every jurisdiction and location within Ireland and there have been some great successes. We have seen a few big announcements this week in the southern region where companies are investing because of the talent and skills that are available.
