Transatlantic Trade Relations: American Chamber of Commerce Ireland
2:00 am
Mr. Paul Sweetman:
First, it is very upsetting for us to see any job losses or closure of facilities and it is something that we try to prevent. We will work with the organisations to understand the reasons and to see if there is anything within our control that we can do to support any changes in that regard.
Deputy Brennan mentioned the specific competitive advantages of infrastructure, and talent and skills capability. We need to highlight and show that there are these capabilities available. There is a job to be done to make sure that investors as they are coming in are aware of all of the pockets of innovation, talent and skills that are available in this country. Broadly speaking, we will still continue to see US investment in Ireland across all regions.
