Gabhaim buíochas le Fíona Uí Uiginn. I would be 100% behind her on the oral exam. It is so crucial to be able to speak fluently but that it is not done by rote or by being learned off.

I thought that the subject that I mentioned was of great interest because we learned so much through history and everything else but this would be a subject specifically around the Irish language. The etymology of so many words which come through Hiberno-English is truly amazing. The way we speak and even the structure of our speech lends itself to so much of our poetry and literature, and so on.

My other question then, and I do not know if some of our other witnesses may wish to comment on it if we have time, relates to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
