I was very impressed by the Gweedore example that was given. However, music is a universal language and that sometimes takes over from the fact that the oral arts, literature, the speaking of our language and the understanding of the spoken word and the work the Chair mentioned is equally as important. It is fantastic that the witnesses have done so much work on that, that people are enjoying it and it is brought back to life. Sometimes we forget about the oral arts which is the very place we want to be if we are to believe in our language. I certainly want to learn it before I die in order that I leave some kind of echo of it. That is what we are really trying to get at through other aspects of the arts.

Údarás na Gaeltachta make a very good point about entrepreneurship and about areas of that that might also be able to facilitate or tentacle out through areas of the arts. It is very successful and I notice from Údarás na Gaeltachta's presentation which I read earlier that there are many small businesses alive and well, brought alive by the Údarás. I think it is a very good idea and it is also good to follow Creative Ireland on it because it links both.
