As Minister of State for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail & Ports, I wish to advise that my Department does not have any statutory powers or policy-making influence in relation to the setting of parking charges in commercially operated shopping centres. The cost of parking in private car parks is the responsibility of the car park's owner.
