The processing of a new Honorary Consul application requires a vetting process to be cleared by the Department of Justice and An Garda Síochána before any approval can be given.

Protocol submitted Mr Khurshid's application to the Department of Justice in April. Protocol has actively been following up with the Department of Justice for an update on this application. To date, the vetting process for Mr Khurshid is still pending.
