The development of a National Equality Data Strategy is being led by the Central Statistics Office and the Department of Children, Disability and Equality. The Strategy aims to provide a general approach to improving the collection, use and dissemination of equality data in Ireland. This will improve the ability of public bodies to monitor the impact of policies and initiatives and will complement the Equality Budgeting initiative led by the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.

I hope to bring the Strategy forward for publication in the coming weeks.
