328. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if the process of exchanging a persons’ foreign driver’s licence (Belgian) for an Irish licence will be expedited at their local NDLS without having to leave the paper licence with the office, as they require to have their licence with them at all times for car hire for their work abroad and business travel. As Minister of State for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail & Ports, I wish to advise that all enquiries relating to driver licensing are handled by the National Driver Licence Service, the provision of which I have delegated under national legislation to the Road Safety Authority.
I have referred this matter to the Authority for direct reply.
