296. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the breakdown of the additional capacity added to the NCT system since the RSA is working with a company (details supplied) to improved service capacity; broken down per year, and per centre, from 2022 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Car Testing (NCT) Service. Neither I nor my officials are involved in the delivery of the service at an operational level.

Given the RSA's responsibility in this matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the Authority for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
