To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government if the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) has commenced or intends to commence an investigation into electricity suppliers, given recent reports by an expert group expressing concern that retail electricity prices are not reflecting reductions in wholesale energy costs; the criteria under which the CRU assesses supplier pricing fairness and competitiveness; if he will publish the most recent data comparing wholesale and retail electricity prices for domestic and commercial customers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government the latest figures for domestic energy bill arrears in the household sector, including the percentage of electricity and gas customers in arrears, the total amounts owed, and the average debt per household; if he will compare these figures with those from June 2024 and June 2021; the total value and reach of payments made under the energy credit scheme to date in 2025 and its assessed impact on household arrears; the targeted interventions planned to reduce household energy debt, promote tariff switching, and improve transparency and efficiency in billing; the plans to transition from universal energy credits to targeted supports for households most at risk of long-term arrears; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
