208. To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade his views the Government must recognise our stance on being neutral; and if there are any changes on neutrality it will have to be adjudicated on by the people of Ireland by a referendum. [60837/25]

Ireland’s policy of military neutrality means that Ireland does not participate in military alliances or common or mutual defence arrangements.

As the Government has stated on numerous occasions, there are no plans to alter this policy. As such, a referendum on Ireland’s neutrality is not necessary or appropriate.
