To ask the Minister for Health to outline the current eligibility criteria for access to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices for people living with diabetes; the number of people currently waiting for a CGM device, disaggregated by age group and CHO area; the average wait time for device approval; and whether he will commit to ensuring equitable access to CGM devices for all diabetes patients who require them, including people with Type 2 diabetes, in line with best practice in other EU member states. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines and medical devices; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
