I propose to take Questions Nos. 839, 840, 841, 842, 843, 844, 845, 846, 847 and 848 together.

In line with the requirements of the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016, those wishing to operate an early years service are required to register with Tusla.

The National Register of Early Years Services, which provides a breakdown of service type by county is available via the Tusla website at: www.tusla.ie/services/preschool-services/early-years-providers/register-of-early-years-services-by-county/.

Tusla have responsibility for recording and publishing this information. For operational reasons they collate this information by county only. On this basis, Tusla’s Early Years Inspectorate have confirmed that as at the end of September 2025 there were 157 registered sessional preschool services in Co. Kildare.
