I propose to take Questions Nos. 761, 762 and 763 together.
The Deputy will appreciate that my Department is not responsible for overall policy in respect of data sharing across public bodies. I can, however, advise him that in keeping with the Government's 2030 digitisation strategy, my Department continues to examine and action means to harmonise data sharing with other state bodies relevant to the Department's services and field of work.
Further information on the strategy is available at the following link: assets.gov.ie/static/documents/connecting-government-2030-a-digital-and-ict-strategy-for-irelands-public-service-e7a3.pdf
The eligibility criteria for state services varies across schemes and public bodies according to the purpose, scope and legal basis for the scheme. The onus is on the relevant state body to identify the nationality of the applicant if it is relevant to the eligibility for access to a particular service. It is also the responsibility of the applicant to keep their own personal details up-to-date.
As more data sharing infrastructure and solutions are created, my Department can explore new potential options to improve its data sharing to other state bodies.
