I propose to take Questions Nos. 707 and 764 together.

The 2025 Programme for Government included a commitment to introducing a contribution model for people in international protection accommodation.

While not all international protection applicants are working, it makes sense for people who are earning an income and paying tax to also make a contribution to their accommodation cost.

An advanced proposal for a contribution model for people in international protection accommodation was recently considered by the Cabinet Committee on Justice, Migration and Social Affairs.

The proposals are being finalised and will be brought to Government in due course.
