136. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government if he has considered the use of aquaculture or seaweed farms within ORE projects, as has been done successfully alongside other ORE projects and may prove to be a commercially successful ancillary-use project. [59825/25]

The proposal suggested by the Deputy would be a commercial matter for the lease holder of the offshore wind farm site concerned and interested aquaculture farmers, subject to any relevant clauses specified in the lease holder's Maritime Area Consent.

An aquaculture licence from the Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and the Marine would be required for such a venture.
