My Department's CLÁR programme provides funding under a number of different measures for small-scale infrastructural projects in designated rural areas.

In 2024 my Department announced funding of €11.4 million for 264 projects under measure 1 of the scheme, including 6 Louth projects valued at over €244,000.

The CLÁR programme in 2025 includes a range of different funding measures, including Measure 1 which supports community facilities and amenities and Measure 2 which focuses on funding for mobility, cancer care, community first responders, and meals on wheels transport in rural areas.

I was delighted to announce funding of over €1.7 million earlier this year under measure 2 of the programme including 1 project from Co Louth valued at €50,000.

My officials are currently assessing applications under measure 1 of the 2025 CLÁR programme, including 15 applications from Louth valued at over €664,000.

I expect to announce the successful projects under this measure in the coming weeks.
