The Abridged Estimates 2026 were published as part of the Budget 2026 Expenditure Report by the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation. The Abridged Estimates for my Department can be found on page 205 of the Expenditure Report which is available online at: www.gov.ie/en/department-of-public-expenditure-infrastructure-public-service-reform-and-digitalisation/publications/budget-2026-expenditure-reports/
It should be noted that the Abridged Estimate identifies the total gross allocation and the proposed allocations at programme level. The Abridged Estimate set out a total gross allocation of €611 million in respect of the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht with an allocation of €192.16 million for the rural development and regional affairs programme; €259.909 million for the community development programme; and €158.931 million for the Gaeltacht and the Islands programme.
The Revised Estimates Volume 2026, which will be published in December 2026 by the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, will provide a full breakdown of proposed allocations by sub-head. I would note that the press release issued by my Department has provided detailed information on intended allocations, and this is available at: www.gov.ie/en/department-of-rural-and-community-development-and-the-gaeltacht/press-releases/budget-2026-ministers-calleary-and-buttimer-secure-611-million-in-funding-for-rural-and-community-development-and-the-gaeltacht/
