The initial Exchequer pay allocation to D/Health funded HSE staff in 2024 was €10,099.8m.

Total expenditure on D/Health funded HSE staff in 2024 was €11,063.7m. In addition to basic pay; allowances and PRSI, this figure includes overtime payments, and payments to agency staff who supported the HSE in the provision of necessary services.

Because additional funds in excess of the initial Exchequer allocation were required to meet total pay costs, there was no funding that remained unspent due to unfilled posts in 2024.
