I am advised that the property to which the Deputy refers was contracted by my Department from 2 October 2022 to 15 February 2024 to provide emergency temporary accommodation to beneficiaries of temporary protection from Ukraine. All accommodation contracted by the Department is temporary in nature.

As the demand for accommodation for people fleeing the war in Ukraine decreased since early 2024, the Department has ended contracts on a regular basis to ensure value for money.

A termination letter was issued to the accommodation provider at this property on 16 January 2024, invoking the 30-day termination clause in the applicable contract. The contract was terminated with effect from 15 February 2024. The Department has paid all valid invoices submitted by the provider in accordance with our contractual obligations up to the termination of the contract.

Details of payments made to specific providers for specific locations are not publicly supplied by my Department as such details are commercially sensitive. However, the Deputy may wish to note that payments over €20,000 to suppliers of the Department generally, including accommodation providers, are periodically published officially.
