Responsibility for delivering these projects rests with the relevant local authorities, who are required to work in close consultation with Uisce Éireann reflecting that the infrastructure, once completed, will be owned and operated by Uisce Éireann.
Since the funding announcement, each local authority, in partnership with Uisce Éireann, undertook and completed a comprehensive reassessment of its project. This review examined project design, project scale and delivery approach to ensure that the most efficient and cost-effective solutions are pursued.
Updated submissions have since been submitted to the Department. These submissions are currently being assessed with a view to determining the next steps in progressing each project.
