The school referred to by the Deputy was approved to enter the Department’s pipeline of school buildings for a project providing one Special Education Needs (SEN) classroom and one Special Education Tuition (SET) room under the Additional School Accommodation (ASA) Scheme.

This project is devolved to the school authority for delivery.

I am pleased to confirm that the project was approved to Stage 4 (construction) in August 2025 and it is now within the remit of the school authority to progress this project to completion.

The Department will continue to actively engage with the school authority to provide practical advice and assistance on this much needed project.
