The adjustment to the number of Sraith Pictiur in recent years has been made in the context of examination and assessment adjusts applied as a consequence of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. These adjustments assist students by leaving intact the familiar overall structure of the examinations, while incorporating additional choice for students. In some cases, the adjustment measures provide more time for tuition by, for example, reducing preparatory work for practical examinations.

I announced in April 2025 that examinations and assessment adjustments that have applied in recent years continue to apply for students in 2026. A decision in relation to 2027 and future years will be made shortly.
