25. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the action he can take against the virtual monopoly by the DAA at Dublin Airport for car parking and the significant increasing of prices for this service by the DAA; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [57523/25]

As the Deputy will be aware, daa has statutory responsibility to operate, manage and develop Dublin Airport. As such, the management of car parking, including the setting of prices, is a matter for daa and I have no role in this area.

I can advise the Deputy that a new car park, Park2Travel, opened on 10 March 2025 and provides an extra 6,122 car parking spaces at Dublin Airport. This new car park provides an important level of competition in the market for public car parking spaces near the airport.

In March 2024, following an investigation, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) blocked the sale of the former Quickpark car park near Dublin Airport to daa. CCPC analysis published in June 2025, after the opening of Park2Travel by the new operator. indicated that for summer 2025 there were clear signs of consumers benefiting from increased competition including more choice, greater supply, and lower prices at Dublin Airport in relation to parking.
