224. To ask the Minister for Health whether her Department has projects, contracts, or pilots currently being undertaken or in development that make use of agentic AI; if the use of these technologies is internal only or public facing; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [57627/25]

My Department is not currently using agentic AI in the delivery of its services or operations. There is an approved policy on the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence which is based on recommendations from the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) Cyber Security Guidance on Generative AI for Public Sector Bodies and DPENDR’s Interim Guidelines for Use of AI in the Public Service.
A pilot implementation regarding possible use cases of Gen AI (internal only), including improved efficiency and productivity is currently under way. This will inform decisions regarding the potential use of Gen AI in the future.
