264. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if there are plans to provide future interconnectivity between the DART+ North Project and the Metro once the Metro is operational, whether by rail or bus link; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [57008/25]

As the Deputy may be aware, as Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has responsibility for the planning and development of public transport infrastructure, including MetroLink.

MetroLink will be a fully segregated and mostly underground new railway line between Swords and Dublin City Centre, the first of its kind in Ireland. It is a key project under the National Development Plan 2021-30. MetroLink will be able to carry a peak capacity of 20,000 passengers per hour per direction in the future.

The stations on Metrolink’s route will connect directly to Iarnród Éireann and DART/DART+ services at Glasnevin and Tara Street stations. The MetroLink stops at O’Connell Street, St Stephen’s Green and Charlemont will allow for easy access to nearby Green Line and Red Line Luas stops. Several MetroLink stops will also be within close proximity to BusConnects services, including Swords Central, Northwood, Collins Avenue, Griffith Park, Glasnevin, O’Connell Street, Tara Street and Stephen’s Green.

Noting the NTA's responsibility in the matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for a direct reply. Please contact my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 working days.
