588. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the reason the 1 percent pay increase has not been paid to prison staff that was due on 1 September 2025; if staff working in the Irish Prison Service headquarters in Longford have received the 1 percent increase; when all prison staff will receive the pay increase; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy may be aware, the granting, processing and implementation of pay increases across the Civil Service is, in the first instance, a matter for the Department of Public Expenditure Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitisation and as such no Department or agency can unilaterally implement any pay changes in this regard.
I am informed that discussions are ongoing in relation to the terms of implementation of the 1% local bargaining provision for all civil servants and therefore a pay increase has not been applied at this time.
