584. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality for an update on the work being done by his Department, and agencies under its remit, to facilitate, in line with the commitment under the Programme for Government, the easier return to Ireland for emigrants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department or the bodies under its aegis do not have direct responsibility to facilitate the easier return to Ireland for emigrants as set out in the Programme for Government (PfG).

The Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) unit of my Department indirectly assists Irish citizens by facilitating visas and immigration permissions for their Non-EEA spouses/partners and family members. In 2024, the Visa Division of ISD issued 1,467 visas to the Non-EEA spouses/partners of Irish citizens.
