In respect of the Government's support for Intercounty Gaelic Games, the total fund for player grants in 2026 will be increased by €1.6 million, an increase of more than 28% on the funding level in 2025.

This support is provided by Government in recognition of the unique contribution these players make to our national games, and the commitment required to play the game at the highest level possible.

The total of €7.2 million of funding will be distributed by Sport Ireland and is payable to the GAA which, in collaboration with the LGFA, the Camogie Association and the Gaelic Players Association (GPA), is responsible for its distribution to teams and players along with its reporting and oversight.
