63. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his Department, along with Irish Rail, would carry out a feasibility study to assess whether there is a need for trains every half hour from Cork to Heuston in extremely busy times; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister of State with responsibility for International and Road Transport, Logistics, Rail and Ports, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.

The query raised by the Deputy is an operational matter for Irish Rail in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA). I have, therefore, referred the Deputy's question to both the NTA and Irish Rail for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
