Non-Productive Investments (NPIs) are a range of complementary actions available to participants in the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) Co-operation (CP) approach. The purpose of NPIs is to enable participants to enhance their holdings from an environmental perspective, which may result in their land achieving a higher score and, in turn, an increase in the level of their core payments.
Decision letters in respect of the first two NPI application windows have issued, and a claims system is in place to allow participants to claim payments where the NPIs have been carried out. The payments for these claims are scheduled to commence at the end of October. The third NPI application window has also opened, with 975 applications submitted to date, and applications may continue to be submitted until Friday 17 October 2025.
The following table is a breakdown of the NPI applications submitted and approved, the current claim value and the number of claims made to date, in respect of 2023 and 2024.
Plan Year | Applications | Approvals | Current Claim Value | Claims |
---|---|---|---|---|
2023 | 4,288 | 4,091 | €13,033,487.61 | 504 |
2024 | 4,805 | 4,670 | €15,819,949.05 | 191 |
2025 | 975 |
