To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the reforms that are being considered to streamline planning and consenting processes for critical water infrastructure projects, such as the Greater Dublin Drainage Project, which are essential to enabling housing delivery; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no specific proposals at the present time to modify the planning and consenting processes for major water infrastructure. There are of course significant changes to the planning process that apply to all developments including water infrastructure that are now being implemented through the Planning and Development Act 2024.
